A Brief History

In 1903, the Idaho State Industrial Reform School was established to house the most troubled youths of the region. These children were often sent there without their consent to reform their behavior. However, reports suggest that the conditions at the school were abysmal, with some of the young inmates resorting to taking their own lives. The property has 22 unmarked graves of children who died under suspicious circumstances. As the twentieth century drew to a close, the dormitory and the adjacent infirmary building were decommissioned and sold to different families, who converted them into private homes.

The infirmary was a grim part of the institution's history. It included a surgical room and solitary confinement cells and was rumored to have been the site of lobotomies. Children housed at the school were reportedly treated harshly, with some facing extreme and controversial medical procedures. The facility’s dark past is marked by these alleged practices, contributing to the site's eerie reputation today, especially concerning the paranormal activity reported there.
